Frequently asked questions.

Everything you need to know about our services, coverage, certifications, and how to get started.

01 Which areas do you collect from?

We currently provide scheduled daily household collection in Nakawa Division (Kampala), Bweyogere Division, Kira Municipality, Mukono Municipality, and Jinja City. We also collect from institutional and commercial clients across greater Kampala and can discuss coverage for other locations.

02 How do I sign up for household waste collection?

Simply fill in our quote request form on the Contact page, or call/WhatsApp us on 0755 316 666. We will confirm your collection schedule, provide your colour-coded wheelie bins, and get you started — usually within a few days.

03 Are you licensed to handle medical and hazardous waste?

Yes. We hold a full NEMA license for the collection, transportation, and disposal of medical (clinical, pharmaceutical, sharps, pathological) and hazardous (chemical, industrial) waste. We can provide copies of our license for due diligence or tendering purposes.

04 What certifications does De Waste hold?

We are certified to three ISO standards: ISO 45001:2018 (Occupational Health & Safety), ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management), and ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management). We also hold a full NEMA license and operate in compliance with KCCA regulations.

05 Do you provide waste collection for events?

Yes — we handle event sanitation and waste for both short-duration events and long-term site management. Services include portable toilet hire, handwashing stations, bin supply, and post-event clean-up. Contact us with your event details for a tailored quote.

06 How quickly can you arrange a skip?

For standard skip hire in Kampala, we can typically arrange same-day delivery for urgent requests. Scheduled skips can be booked in advance for construction and renovation projects. Call or WhatsApp us on 0755 316 666 to check availability.

07 Can you service UN agencies and international organisations?

Yes — we have long-standing service relationships with UNHCR, UNMISS, and other international agencies. We are familiar with institutional procurement processes, can provide all required compliance documentation, and issue invoices in both UGX and USD.

08 Do you issue waste manifests and disposal certificates?

Yes. Every medical and hazardous waste collection comes with a waste manifest documenting the waste type, quantity, collection date, and disposal destination. Incineration and disposal certificates are available on request.

09 What is your response time for quote requests?

We respond to all quote requests within one business day. For urgent requirements, call or WhatsApp us directly on 0755 316 666 — we aim to respond within the hour during working hours.

010 Do you have a minimum contract period?

We offer flexible arrangements — from one-off collections to monthly and annual contracts. Institutional clients typically prefer annual contracts for budgeting purposes, while SMEs and households can start on a monthly basis.
